The Harm of Inferior Diesel Oil to Generator Sets

2024-01-29

The power source of the generator set comes from fuel, and most of the generator fuel is diesel. Most of the diesel generator sets have the advantage of strong power, and at the same time, diesel is the main fuel for the engine. The quality of diesel oil greatly affects the performance of the engine.

Diesel with high sulfur content in low-quality diesel is still very harmful to diesel generators. If the sulfur content is too high, the lubricity of the engine oil will decrease, that is to say, the high content of sulfur will lead to a decrease in the quality of the engine oil, the engine will not get a good lubrication effect, and long-term use will cause great damage to the engine.

Inferior diesel oil with low calorific value that does not meet the standard will cause the fuel consumption rate to be too high, and the power of the generator will not meet the standard, resulting in the performance of the engine failing to meet the standard, and the performance is not normal enough.

Inferior diesel oil with too much carbon residue is more harmful, especially more carbon deposits, which will seriously affect the combustion effect of the generator and cause the temperature in the combustion chamber of the engine to be too high. Pistons and piston rings are damaged, seriously affecting the service life of the engine.

Inferior diesel oil with too high water content will reduce the lubrication effect of the fuel pump in the engine, as well as the lubrication effect of precision components such as fuel injectors, which will seriously affect the performance of the engine.

Therefore, avoiding the use of low-quality diesel is very important and necessary for diesel generator sets and applied machinery.
